New Community Features!

We think SeamlessWeb is superior to phone ordering for a lot of reasons, but some of the biggest are the pictures, ratings, reviews, and other great tools all over the site that are designed to help you make a more informed dining decision. We’ve recently added two exciting new community enhancements to the arsenal of information tools on SeamlessWeb and we’re thrilled to tell you all about them!

Liked Items

Notice the little thumbs up icon next to each item on SeamlessWeb menus?

Click on one of those to save an item as something you ‘like.’ Liking items is a great way to remind yourself of what you’ve enjoyed in the past, while also helping to build up the collective wisdom of the SeamlessWeb community. That’s right, your opinion will assist other SeamlessWeb users in making better-informed decisions about which items are the best to order from each restaurant!

Liking items is extremely useful for you and the SeamlessWeb community at large because of its groundbreaking level of detail. It allows you to go beyond the restaurant level and find the specific dishes you enjoy, ordering them faster and more simply than before. And it can also help you discover new dishes. For example, if everyone likes the pork tacos at your favorite Mexican place, isn’t there a chance that you might like them more than your usual chicken burrito? There’s only one way to find out for sure…

It’s Easy to Be a Critic

We’ve also made it easier for you to add ratings/reviews for any restaurant and for you to control all of your ratings/reviews from a central page where they can be easily viewed, edited, or deleted. Can’t remember what you thought of the pizza place near your friend’s house? Just hop on over to the Ratings and Reviews tab in your My Account section and you can read all about it. Like it better the second time around? You can change it from four to five stars. Also on this page, you can see which of your reviews are published on the restaurant’s page, so you know how influential you are!

Another significant change to restaurant ratings and reviews is that you can now see the full distribution of ratings for any restaurant. If a restaurant has a four star rating, you can see how it got there, with a chart of every rating from one star to five stars. This will probably help you get a better idea of how consistent restaurants are and is definitely faster than reading through all the reviews!

Our hope is that these new features help to make SeamlessWeb more useful for everyone, so play around a bit…rate your favorite restaurants, like your favorite dishes, and contribute to the growing SeamlessWeb food conversation and community.

You should add a Don’t Like option as well. Rating dishes bad is as important as rating them good.

The iPhone interface is really clunky. I got frustrated with it after a bit and ended up just calling the restaurant. I would reco getting the interface as close as possible to that of the web site.
