SeamlessWebber of the Week: Lindsey

Every Thursday, a different SeamlessWeb customer tells us about how he or she orders from the site. This week we have Lindsey, a woman about town whose town is the Internet, and our very first “Weber” of the Week:

Name: Lindsey – or my super creative name on Twitter: @lindseyweber

Age: 23

Occupation: Professional Internet Surfer, or what normal folk might call a freelance writer. You can find my musings on Keyboard Catsreggaeton babies, #hashtag games and Brenda Walsh on sites like UrlesqueBuzzfeed and MSN TV.

How and When Did You Discover SeamlessWeb? Through the magic of Twitter! And the intrinsic urgings of my rumbling stomach. (Ed: Readers, you too can discover SeamlessWeb on Twitter. Although if you’re already here…)

Where Do You Use SW? I usually Google Image Search “food” until I find something satisfactory and then smash my keyboard wildly until SW appears. Meaning, I use the Internet. I use the Internet for most everything, don’t you?

Favorite Kind of Food: Anything the waiter tells me to order. I’m totally that person who asks, “What’s your favorite thing?” and will order completely blind.

Least Favorite Kind of Food: I hate that everyone always wants to eat Thai food. What is so great about Thai food, aside from the the fact that it tastes the exact same the following day? Noodles are noodles and spicy curry makes everything taste the same: spicy. You will not convince me otherwise.

Favorite Place(s) to Order From on SW? To the office: Definitely Acme. Their po-boys are incredible and a steal (with a side!) at $10. To home: Bogota Latin Bistro – the empanada sampler is absolutely perfect. Can I also give a shout out to Brooklyn’s own Bergen Bagels? I’m not sure if they are on SW, but they should be because they are the BEST. (Ed: You hear that Bergen Bagels? We’ve got someone who’d like to order from you more often…)

Least Favorite Thing About Calling Restaurants? The worst thing about mainly working online? You develop a crippling fear of the telephone. I think making doctor’s appointments is cringeworthy, so imagine my horror whenever I have to not only call a restaurant, but actually recite food specifications and a credit card number. Also, it’s pretty embarrassing to have to pull out a calculator to get your tip in order – percentages are not my friend. (Ed: Have you heard of ZocDoc?)

Closest Previous Brush with Internet Fame? Well if you’re familiar with webjunk, my brief brush with internet celebrity is the site I created about a year ago, We Have Lasers!!!! – an ode to the laser portrait. But personally, I’d have to say my greatest online moment was a brief (but unforgettable) brush with the diva herself: Mariah Carey. Yes, this happened over Twitter and I’ll never forget it.

Favorite Celebrity Chef? Probably David Chang. If not for Momofuku Milk Bar’s amazing cookie selection, for the clip of him that recently surfaced online where he was revealed to have the most incredible potty mouth.

Favorite Cartoon Growing Up? I actually used to watch Pokémon with my little brother. That should’ve been a sign. I wasn’t really into cartoons though; I was more about sneaking in episodes of Rosanne and Married with Children. And does The Nanny count? (Ed: Well the opening of The Nanny was a cartoon, so…)

What Superpower Do You Wish You Had? Everything I’d like to have done in my life, my Droid already does. For example, I have no sense of direction, so: Google Maps. I’ve just been so impressed with technology lately. If I had to have something supernatural and boring I guess I’d choose flying. Everyone chooses flying. (Ed: What about becoming a human-Droid hybrid? That would be pretty meta.)

In the Past Year, What’s the Latest You’ve Stayed Up and Why? Singing karaoke somewhere. Anywhere. I usually lose track of time and I wake up with a microphone cord wrapped around my body.

Plans for Tonight? It’s Thursday night! Is LOST on? I’ll be watching ABC until it is.

E-mail us at myseamlessweb@seamlessweb.com if you’d like to be the next Webber of the Week or if you’d like to suggest a friend!
