The SeamlessWeb Advice Column is here to answer all your tough questions, food-related and otherwise, so watch out Dear Prudence, cause there’s a new Ann Landers in town. Submissions welcome!
Dear SeamlessWeb,
Next week, I’m leaving my Empire State of Mind in New York and relocating to rainy London. While thrilled to be moving across the pond, I’m a bit nervous about the food options over there. In the Big Apple, I practically live on SeamlessWeb, ordering breakfast on my way to work, dining at my desk for lunch, and then picking up dinner on the way home. So, while I’m excited for a change of scenery and a European lifestyle, I’m concerned about my SW addiction. Especially with all the rain I hear about, how will I get my meals? Do they even call it delivery in London?
Please help!
Dear Leaving,
Have no fear! No more nerves! Don’t get your knickers in a twist! SeamlessWeb is in London and with over 200 restaurants in the British capital, there’s no doubt that you’ll be well-fed. Here are some of our more popular restaurants to help you hit the ground running:
- Al Volo Restaurant: Inventive Italian to remind you of Little Italy
- Basilico: You’ll definitely want to put pizza on your menu
- Chop’d: New York’s not the only place with healthy salads
As you can see, living in London will be as easy as A(l Volo)-B(asilico)-C(hop’d). Just don’t forget to say takeaway instead of pickup, flat instead of apartment, and boll…actually there a few things that you should learn on your own.

Dear SeamlessWeb,
I have a fear of birds. The tiny beaks, the nasty feathers, the sharp claws and the beady eyes — it all terrifies me. I duck (no pun intended) when I see a canary fly near me. I cross the street if a pigeon peers at me from the sidewalk (which happens a lot where I live near Columbus Circle). At the beach I huddle under a blanket to avoid the seagulls’ steady stares. I’m nervous that if I get too close, the creatures will just come at me and peck me. I’ve tried therapy, counseling, and even hypnosis, but nothing has been helpful. I’m scared, hungry, and alone. What should I do?
Dear Afraid,
So sorry to hear about your condition. It’s probably best that you not leave your home, so may we suggest a few delivery restaurants for you in the Columbus Circle area:
- Akdeniz: Let this Turkish delight improve your associations with the word Turkey
- B-Bap: Devote your nervous energy to designing your own bibimbap
- Kyotofu: Treat yourself to something sweet from these Japanese dessert specialists
Good luck conquering your condition!
