Twitter Trivia: Tax Recap

Each week on Twitter, @SeamlessWeb (that’s us) runs a trivia contest where the first person to answer each question correctly earns a $10 SeamlessWeb discount code. We usually have 4 or 5 questions spread throughout the day, all related to a weekly theme, so there are plenty of chances to win. Here’s a recap of this week’s questions…and answers.

Twitter Trivia

This week’s theme: Taxes

  • In what year was the 1st U.S. Federal Personal Income Tax statute passed and what dollar value was the threshold for taxation? @joshmorrissey knows his Civil War tax history
  • Which legendary gangster was convicted of tax evasion in 1931 and in which prison did he most famously serve time? Tax evasion put Al Capone in prison and won $10 for @AvocadoRivalry
  • Name the 2 U.S. states that impose no personal income tax AND have home teams that play in the NBA, NFL, and MLB. @davidcho called his shot, tax-free
  • In 2005, which telecoms mogul was found as the biggest tax cheat in U.S. history and how much money did he admit hiding? We now know it was $365 million, thanks to @emilyhanhan
