SeamlessWebber of the Week: Ben

Every week, a different SeamlessWeb customer tells us about how he or she orders from the site. This week it’s Ben, a business student living his life and hating all things olive:

Name: Ben

Age: 22

Occupation: Business Student

How and When Did You Discover SeamlessWeb? One glorious evening last January, my friend Cory showed me this intensely convenient website and made me into a real New Yorker.

Where Do You Use SW? At home, The Office, on the GO! I try to use it everywhere I go and then I remember that it doesn’t exist everywhere yet! I get very frustrated when I am out of town and my friends don’t know what it is and don’t understand why I REALLY don’t want to CALL a restaurant to order delivery. What are we, Neanderthals?

Favorite Kind of Food: SUSHI! I love Japanese food.

Least Favorite Kind of Food: Anything with olives, or olive flavor. I feel like olives are one of those foods that you either love or hate. Anyone that loves them will tell you: “You have to try one. Just try one. ” I have tried more than one. They are gross. (Ed: But what about the red ones?! Those are chill, it’s like eating olive oil.)

Favorite Place(s) to Order From on SW? Nanoosh, Fatty Crab, Rosa Mexicano. Basically I like anything spicy and/or delicious. Because I am both Spicy and Delicious. (Ed: That’s what she said.)

Least Favorite Thing About Calling Restaurants? Always having to know the menu or have a copy with you and forgetting that you don’t like the olives that come in an otherwise perfect salad.

Closest Previous Brush with Internet Fame? I was recently twittered about by Night Agency because I was wearing the Keds for Opening Ceremony shoes at Bloomingdales. Does being in other people’s Facebook pictures count as internet fame? (Ed: No, unless the people you are with are famous…or at least internet famous.)

Favorite Celebrity Chef? Bobby Flay or Paula Deen. Basically anyone from the Food Network. I’m a big fan of watching delicious food being prepared. Also, I like to cook so I like to be able to see how things are made and trying to make them myself.

Favorite Cartoon Growing Up? Recess. So Good. (Ed: Agreed.)

What Superpower Do You Wish You Had? I wish I could teleport; then I would never have to wait for the subway at 4 a.m. ever again or wake up so early to get to work!

In the Past Year, What’s the Latest You’ve Stayed Up and Why? Well, I have stayed up all night for many reasons, the last time was because the sun was already up, so I just started my day. I mean really, once you’re to a certain hour you may as well commit.

Plans for Tonight? Tonight I have a hot date! Literally it will be hot: high of 90, low of 75! (Ed: How about avoiding the oppressive heat altogether and just ordering in…)

E-mail us at thedeliverybag@seamlessweb.com if you’d like to be the next Webber of the Week or if you’d like to suggest a friend!

I hated olives for years and then on a special day in Los Angeles at a small Italian eatery I tried my 373rd olive in hopes that there would be a dance on my tongue. BAM!!! The curse had been broken and I have been an olive eating fool ever since. Never give up BEN. It’s very tasty on the olive side.
