What if I was to tell you…

(Ed. Note: Entourage? Bob Ryan? Get it?)

Allow myself to introduce…myself. My name is Jonathan Zabusky and I’m not only the SeamlessWeb President, I’m also a client. Like many of you, every morning when I get off the train, all I want is some caffeine and some carbs. So I’m as excited as anyone for these new mobile apps, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves here and let me tell you a little story about how we/I got to this point…

I find myself finally going Back to the Future. It’s been over 11 years since I left the glorious days of working at MovieFone (no, not AOL Moviefone, the original bleeding edge pre-AOL MovieFone), but memories are flooding back today, and they’re not all of Kramer. In those days (read: Internet boom), we were leading the charge and pushing people AWAY from the phone and TO the PC for web ordering. Nobody else was really doing it then, but we realized the inherent difficulties in buying movie tickets over the phone through 777-FILM. Yeah, it worked better than squinting to read the (often out-of-date) newspaper listings, but the whole thing needed a makeover and MovieFone.com was the answer.

So now the irony. Today, I am launching my blogging career on The Delivery Bag by telling you, Mr./Mrs. Loyal SeamlessWebber, to leave the internet behind (at least for the day) and go back to the phone by trying the SeamlessWeb mobile apps for iPhone and BlackBerry! Not even Carnac the Magnificent (dating myself?) could have predicted that reversal of fortune, but we’re very excited that these apps are finally fully operational and we really believe that they’re going to change the way you think about ordering food.

I know that I’m gonna have a new morning routine and with the way that smartphones are surgically attached to peoples’ bodies these days, I have a feeling that some other folks will figure out some even more creative ways to take advantage of the apps. So have fun, let us know how they’re working, and tell us what else we can do to make them even better!

Android outsold both iPhone and Blackberry in Q2-10 and this trend is only going to continue. Anyone who overlooks this platform will be regret it.
